About Us

Our Story

October 28, 2017.  After hearing that the local bar and hangout in Powdersville was rumored to be closing, salon owner Keshia Moore had a vison: to open her own bar and hangout. “I didn’t want just another bar that had live music, I wanted a music venue that had a bar in it”, says Keshia.  That vision became a reality some six months later. March 16, 2018, to be exact.  The Powdersville Pub was opened.

Limited to 1500 square feet housing only 15 barstools, 5 tables, a jukebox, and a pool table, the Powdersville Pub was your typical hometown hangout. Unbeknownst to all, that one tiny corner would “set the stage” for what was about to come…

Music became the center of entertainment at the Pub.  It all started with a two-piece acoustic duo standing in the front corner of the venue, melodically projecting all your favorite Honky Tonk songs.  Next came the flood of musicians from all over wanting a gig at the Powdersville Pub.  After celebrating its one-year anniversary, Keshia knew she needed more space. The Pub had reached its capacity and the need for more room was inevitable.

In January 2020, the Powdersville Pub took on an extensive expansion increasing the size of the venue from 1500 to 4500 square feet.  Along with tripling the size of the venue and creating a 30-person horseshoe bar with its unique Jack Daniel’s bottle lighting fixtures, the venue added a 12’x12’ platform stage to accommodate anything from an acoustic solo act to full bands.  But it didn’t stop there…or did it?

Enter COVID-19.

On March 17, 2020, just one day after celebrating its second anniversary, the Pub was shut down due to the Coronavirus.  For the next 46 days, the venue sat dormant.  Multiple fundraisers were held to aid in the financial distress of the shutdown for both the Pub and its employees.  The Pub’s patrons and community came together to show their support in wanting to keep the Pub alive.  “The people were good and generally wanted to help each other”, said Keshia.  Finally, on May 5, the doors were allowed back open.  But those weren’t the only doors to open.

Over the next 8 months, the Pub would undergo a fifty thousand dollars upgrade, including a 16’ x 20’ x 24” stage, complete with an all in-house sound and lights production system.  The Pub has welcomed over 200 musicians and bands and has hosted an abundance of events such as charity fundraisers, benefit motorcycle rides, business/organization/private parties, and countless birthday parties.

Hospitality and integrity are of the upmost importance to us. We take pride in providing top quality services in a safe, clean environment. For more information about The Powdersville Pub please browse the website or feel free to contact us here.
